Since 2010, improvements in IT hardware have been developed at an extremely rapid pace. Network transmission speeds are increasing, real-time video streaming services are becoming more common. Mechanisms for using the cloud are becoming more widespread, and companies are increasingly using cloud services with an emphasis on security. More and more people are saying that VR disaster experiences can be easily used by anyone, anytime, anywhere. In order to meet these market demands, it is necessary to overcome several technical hurdles. In order to overcome technical hurdles, we are developing technology for a tactile sensation unit that can be used remotely in a network environment.
The image above is a prototype of a haptic reproduction unit developed in 2022 that is compatible with VR goggles equipped with Android OS and can operate in a network environment. This is a product with several functional improvements and weight reductions. In order to accommodate overseas operations in various regions, we have responded to each country’s communication regulations. Several software developments are underway to bring the Windows PC version of the product to the cloud, and we plan to commercialize the haptic unit in line with these developments.
