The product development of RiMM is about 10 years, but the elemental technologies that make up the product consist of 10 elemental technologies as shown in the figure below.
Beginning with visual reproduction, auditory reproduction, tactile reproduction, skin sensation reproduction, olfactory reproduction, and equilibrium sensation reproduction necessary for sensation reproduction, gesture recognition by image processing for realizing intuitive interaction, and for constructing a virtual space. The 3D environment database takes almost 20 years. The construction of the disaster database started in 2004. General-purpose technology for safety is the product base of RiMM. Knowledge of reliability engineering, kansei engineering, neural engineering, brain chemistry, psychology, etc. is also an important factor in product development. We have been focusing on collaboration with research institutes for 20 years. We will continue to focus on discovering and developing realization methods in order to find safety methods.
