I would like to think about what we should continue to do to promote safety and security. The concept of the Cyclone Philosophy is to consider ways to ensure safety and to commercialize them based on the processes people experience. The Cyclone Philosophy aims to improve consciousness by transmitting emotions through the five senses. As of January 2025, it is possible to generate senses other than taste. In the future, in cases where food safety is the theme, we believe that it will be necessary to consider the realization of a unit that reproduces taste. In addition, our activities to establish safety and security focus on negative emotions and research ways to achieve safety and security. Therefore, the reproduction of the five senses realizes sight, hearing, balance, touch, pain, and smell. In order to lead to safety and security while appropriately reproducing these senses, we are researching and developing ways to improve people’s consciousness. Work on safety began in 2001. We develop a training simulator to learn and acquire skills with the body. It turns out that it is difficult to learn with just the vision of the virtual space, so we use motion capture to reproduce the posture of the body in the virtual space and reproduce the collision judgment between objects. Additionally, it has been found that reproducing the feel and reaction force of touching an object can help memory more efficiently.
We realize that reproducing the five senses is an important factor in human memory. In order to concentrate on work in a virtual space, it is necessary to immerse yourself in the virtual space. In addition, in order to efficiently memorize work, a mechanism to concentrate the operator’s attention is also necessary. We developed a training simulator based on the concept of making the nerves of the body remember the working memory. In order to improve the safety awareness of workers, we will develop a VR danger experience system that reproduces the environment and work at the time of a disaster, generates disasters according to the work content, and induces negative emotions at the time of a disaster with moderate stimulation. After improving safety awareness, in order to foster awareness of problems regarding disasters, we are developing a product to establish safety awareness by having participants view disaster reenactment videos for danger prediction and discuss ways to prevent disasters. In order to further increase safety, we will begin research and development on the theme of a mechanism to promote awareness. Since 2018, we have been developing a mechanism to convert live-action panoramic images into VR to induce “awareness,” and a product that uses it to automatically evaluate dangerous areas by pointing out dangerous areas. We are realizing safety and security by solving each of the themes shown in the figure clockwise one by one. The next theme is research and development of a means to increase motivation.
