In recent years, many natural disasters beyond expectations and the first disasters including corona have occurred in local governments, and local governments cannot deal with them in cooperation with various organizations. Therefore, there is a need for means of assumptions and response training to deal with these disasters. Local governments often hear about the issues mentioned above.
At RiMM, we have expanded VR and provided products for private companies as a means to improve sensitivity. For local governments, a new product will be added that allows multiple people to simultaneously simulate and train the image of a virtual disaster using a tablet that uses a network server. This enables simulation training by simulating a virtual disaster written by the user himself. This makes it possible to train by trial and error in dealing with unexpected disasters using virtual simulation.

Q3.RiMM seems to be able to experience disasters in VR (virtual reality). Is there any actual learning effect?

We have received many comments from safety personnel of companies that have adopted RiMM that the learning effect has improved and it has become easier to teach safety education that will be implemented thereafter. In addition, the repeat rate after the introduction of RiMM has already exceeded 40%, and the rate is increasing day by day. Q7. Your company has a track record in processing and selling fastener parts and mounting materials. What is your aim in the VR business?
A7. From the 1990s, 3D-CAD began to be used for product design. After that, I didn’t use 3D data in the process, and at that time I was thinking about its effective use. I wanted to create an effective tool by utilizing VR as a means to effectively use the shape data created by the design in the subsequent process. Therefore, in 2001, the current company started VR development of 3D business.
Every time we meet the demand and develop a skill improvement simulator, the customer naturally demands the cost-effectiveness of the development cost. Developing new features is inevitably costly. As a result, it has gradually become clear that if it is possible to virtually experience and feel the dangerous state that is life-threatening, it will meet the demands of the market and be cost-effective. I think that is the social need that has been derived over the last 20 years. We are finding new value in contributing to society by creating and providing tools that protect people who specialize in safety in response to the rapidly changing needs of society.
Q8. How do you plan to develop RiMM in the future? Please tell us about your company’s VR business outlook and social contribution.

Therefore, I think that the people of the world understand our philosophy across cultural differences and countries, and agree with the safety philosophy we think of. Q10. Why is RIMM needed now and it is necessary to work on safety and security?
A10. Communication using the Internet has spread rapidly and globalization has progressed, and society has changed rapidly. In addition, the global environment is changing rapidly with changes in industry, and the environment surrounding people is also changing significantly. In order for people to live safely in that environment, they need to be able to respond appropriately to the obstacles caused by those changes. People are faced with the need to create new ways to stay safe. Through RiMM, we will leave a mechanism that allows us to experience disasters that we have already experienced as a database, share that information with people living on the earth, gather people with higher safety awareness, gather their wisdom, and think of a mechanism to improve safety.
